There are three core things I work on every day. (This is the kind of post that belongs on my blog) My health, writing, and art. These are the core of my being. They are not work to me, but extensions of who I am. Who am I kidding? They are work and I love it. I have to hold myself accountable to get them done or else they will fade away into the background of a busy life. Doing things you love requires work. Dedication is required of things that are not hobbies. Hobbies you can walk away from. Hobbies you can take a break for a couple of months. Hobbies are for the weekend. The difference between a hobby and a passion is a hobby only serves the hobbyist, the passion serves the world.
Let’s get to the point. You and I have core things that we want to be better than average at. We want to rise to the top. And to get there it requires, daily practice. The it, we want to get better at is our kung fu. It is our life’s work. If we want to get better we will think about it, plan to do it, take classes, and devote time to it. There is a reason people go to sells conferences, leadership seminars, and keep the self development world buzzing. They are not willing to settle. But it is not the big events that will bring the change. You know what I am going to say. It is the daily action and persistence and will to push yourself to get better.
Instead of going through a list of if then. How about this? Decide what you want to be good at and put in the work like you want to be the best at it, and do it daily.
